Privacy
Your information, and what we do with it.

Who we are
Curbstead is a marketplace that matches Chicagoland homeowners with vetted independent holiday-lighting installers. We are the matchmaker, not the installer — the crew that quotes and does the work is an independent business. This policy covers the information Curbstead handles; an installer you are matched with handles your information under their own practices once they contact you.
What we collect
When you request a quote, we collect what you enter: your name, phone number, optional email, street address, ZIP and town, the details about your home and project you answer in the quote flow (stories, roof and scope questions, budget band, and timeline), and your consent to be contacted. We ask for contact details last, after showing you local pricing.
When you apply as an installer, we collect your company and owner name, phone, email, optional website, service area, and the business details you provide (years in business, crew size, licensing status, services, and typical pricing).
We also record basic technical information — such as the IP address of a submission — solely to rate-limit and screen out spam and automated abuse.
How we use it
We use homeowner information to match you with one vetted installer who covers your town and roof type, and to contact you about that request. We use installer information to review applications against open territories and to operate the partner program. We use technical information to keep the service secure and free of spam.
We do not use your information for unrelated advertising, and we contact you about your request — not with unrelated marketing.
How we share it
A homeowner's details go to exactly one installer — the holder of your territory — so you get a single call from someone expecting you, not a bidding war. We never sell your information to lead lists, data brokers, or anyone else. Installer application details stay between the applicant and us.
We rely on a small number of service providers to operate: a database provider to store submissions, an email provider to deliver alerts and correspondence, and an SMS provider to send text messages you have consented to. These providers process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Text messages and calls
If you provide your phone number and check the consent box, you agree to receive calls and text messages about your quote from Curbstead or the matched installer. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help at any time. Consent to receive texts is not a condition of any purchase.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as needed to serve your request and to operate the marketplace — for example, to route your lead, support the installer relationship, and keep records of what was sent where. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below); some records may be retained where we are required to keep them.
Your choices
You can opt out of text messages by replying STOP. You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it by emailing hello@curbstead.com. Because we route a homeowner's request to one installer, deletion applies to the information Curbstead holds; ask the installer directly about information they hold.
How we protect it
Submissions are handled server-side and stored with a database provider under access controls; the administrative dashboard is restricted. No online service can promise perfect security, but we limit who and what can reach your information and we do not expose it publicly.
Children
Curbstead is intended for homeowners and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the service evolves; the date above reflects the latest version. Questions about privacy? Email hello@curbstead.com.
